Whenever anything is accused of being "dumbed down" or someone pretends that "anti-intellectualism" is a real thing that exists, it's safe to just walk away, because some ableist/classist/racist nonsense is coming.
Cognitive accessibility is a good thing. I'm sorry you can't justify your liberal arts education to yourself without pretending it makes you a better sort of person than people with different educational backgrounds, but you don't get to prop up an oppressive cultural and intellectual hierarchy to make yourself feel better.
